Someone Needs to Check on Matt Drudge

Drudge Report

It’s no secret that Matt Drudge (or whoever is running Drudge Report now) hates Donald Trump. The site that was in every conservatives’ bookmarks for years fell from grace when its true leftist love started appearing shortly after Donald Trump’s first victory.

After his third victory (2020 stolen election notwithstanding), Drudge and his famous report are suffering. All of his top links are gone. Only the one headline remains above the columns: “WORLD IN SHOCK”.

It links to a generic Associated Press election coverage story.

There have been many theories about what happened to him and whether he still operates the site. My personal conspiracy theory is one I haven’t shared often but I believe it to be the truth. This is a THEORY, one that I could neither test nor prove. And while it’s possible that someone else bought it or that he’s being blackmailed (the two most prevalent theories), I believe he’s finally just showing his true colors after decades of pretending to be a conservative.

Matt Drudge, in my humble opinion, was always a radical leftist. He found great success in the Clinton years and realized he could build a juggernaut by pandering to a conservative audience. He wasn’t necessarily “controlled opposition” because I do not believe anyone controlled him at all. He did what he did, hired actual conservatives to work some of the shifts on his site, and pretended to be likeminded.

But the reclusive man was only doing it for the money and/or power.

When 2015 rolled around, he wanted Bernie Sanders to win. Attacking Hillary Clinton was easy for him but he wanted to select the GOP candidate he thought Bernie could most easily beat. As was the case with so many leftists, they saw bombastic businessman Donald Trump as an easy target with a ton of baggage who could never win in the general election.

Like Stephen Colbert, Joe Scarborough, “The View,” and other leftist media personalities, Drudge embraced Trump early as his preferred GOP candidate. But while the known leftists quickly flipped on Trump the moment he became the nominee, Drudge was forced to embrace him.

At last, a conservative news aggregator that does not bow to the woke right.

And he did. But until the moment Trump was elected the first time, Drudge did not believe he could actually win. His plan was to show support for Trump and keep in with the conservative crowd, then go back to business as usual once Clinton won the general election.

But she didn’t win. Drudge was shocked. He started questioning his existence as someone living a lie. What made it worse is that many leftist publications cited him specifically in the post-mortems trying to explain how Trump won. Many of them called Drudge Report out as one of the biggest reasons for Hillary’s defeat.

That hit Matt Drudge hard. So he reassessed, realized he had plenty of money, and determined he needed to be true to himself. His Bernie-loving posts started in 2017 and the transition from a conservative beacon to a leftist shell of its old self began.

The site that used to regularly link to The Gateway Pundit, Breitbart, and Western Journal abandoned those stories in favor of Yahoo, MSN, and Washington Post. Today, the closest he comes to linking to a “conservative” site is the DailyMail, and usually only non-political reports.

So it’s fitting that his headline following Trump’s win is “WORLD IN SHOCK”. That’s not true. It’s just him and his fellow leftists who are in shock over Trump’s victory.

Show Hours

Two Storms, One Harvest

Empty Shelves

Every food crisis in living memory has been a one-shock event. The 2008 price spike was a commodity bubble. The 2020 shortages were a logistics failure. The 2022 grain scare was a war on one exporter’s ports. Each time, the system bent, adjusted, and recovered, and each time the experts assured us afterward that global markets are simply too big and too diversified to fail.

What nobody in Washington seems eager to discuss is that 2026 is shaping up to be something the modern food system has never actually faced. Two independent shocks, one climatic and one geopolitical, are converging on the same harvest cycle at the same time. Not sequentially. Simultaneously.

Start with the weather. The Pacific Ocean is currently building toward what forecasters now openly call a record event. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center puts the odds of at least a strong El Niño near 88 percent, with roughly two in three odds it reaches “very strong” status, the tier reserved for perhaps three or four events in the entire satellite era. Every major global model now projects a median peak in Super El Niño territory, and most of them project it exceeding the 2015-16 event, which until now held the modern record. Sea surface anomalies were already brushing the super threshold in mid-July, months before these events normally peak. The atmosphere has already shifted into El Niño mode, and the event is forecast to crest in late fall and early winter.

This is not about “climate change.” It’s about the standard cycles of weather, and the cycle we’re currently in is one that has likely devastated societies in the past. We’re better prepared as a society today, but not all Americans are equally prepared.

Serious households have started doing the quiet math on their own. Grocery bills tell part of the story, and the forecast maps tell the rest, which is why long-term food storage has moved from fringe hobby to mainstream line item in the family budget, with established suppliers like Heaven’s Harvest seeing demand from people who five years ago would have rolled their eyes at the idea. That instinct is not paranoia. It is pattern recognition, and the pattern is worth walking through carefully.

Editor’s Note: Heaven’s Harvest IS a sponsor, but the warnings of this article are real and would be written even if we didn’t have a survival food sponsor. With that said, those who take advantage of what they offer can use promo code “Patriot” for 15% off.

The Fertilizer Clock Is Already Running

While the Pacific warms, the second shock has been unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz. The conflict with Iran turned the world’s most important energy chokepoint into a contested waterway, and the consequences reach far beyond the gas pump. Roughly a third of global fertilizer trade moves through Hormuz, and the disruption sent urea prices up 86 percent year over year by March, with a 53 percent jump in a single month.

The World Bank projects energy prices rising about 24 percent in 2026 and fertilizer about 31 percent. By its own accounting, fertilizer prices ran 35 percent higher in the first five months of this year than the same period last year.

Here is the mechanism the nightly news will not explain. Fertilizer is not a grocery item. It is a time-delayed input. The nitrogen a farmer in Iowa or Punjab could not afford to apply this spring does not show up as a problem this spring. It shows up as a thinner harvest six to twelve months later.

The World Bank’s own food security brief concedes that the effects of reduced applications earlier this season “are likely to become visible only later in harvest outcomes.” Translate that from institutional language into plain English and it means this. The damage is already done, it is already in the ground, and we are simply waiting for it to arrive on the shelf.

Now check the calendar. Six to twelve months from the spring planting season lands us squarely in late 2026 and early 2027. Which is precisely when the strongest El Niño in the instrumental record is forecast to peak, bringing its signature droughts to Southeast Asia, Australia, southern Africa, northern Brazil, and South Asia, the very regions that grow the world’s rice, sugar, and oilseeds.

The World Bank warns openly that a strong El Niño “could disrupt multiple crop belts simultaneously” on top of the conflict-driven input costs. Their baseline projection assumes the Middle East disruptions ease by autumn. What in the last two years of Middle East history suggests that assumption is safe?

The System Has No Slack Left

The comfortable answer is that global markets always adjust. But adjustment requires slack, and the slack is gone. Global cereal production is expected to decline from last year’s records even before El Niño does its work. The UN World Food Programme, hardly a den of right-wing preppers, is calling this the most significant disruption to its supply chains since Covid and the invasion of Ukraine, and its supply chain director put the stakes bluntly.

Today’s supply chain challenges are tomorrow’s hunger crisis.

There is also a political dimension that markets cannot price. When food gets scarce, governments do not behave like economists. They behave like politicians. Export bans, hoarding mandates, and panic buying at the national level turned the modest rice shortfall of 2008 into a global crisis, and analysts are already warning that import-dependent nations are the first dominoes.

The 2015-16 Super El Niño, a far weaker event than what is now forecast, threw tens of millions into food stress across Africa and Asia. This one is projected to be stronger, and it arrives with fertilizer already rationed by price and shipping lanes already contested by missiles.

What Joseph Knew

Scripture does not treat preparation for lean years as faithlessness. It treats it as wisdom delivered in advance to those willing to act on it.

Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt.

Joseph did not respond to that warning with a hashtag or a committee. He stored grain during the years of abundance, and when the famine came, Egypt stood while its neighbors begged. The lesson is not that famine is certain. It is that the time to prepare is precisely when preparation still looks optional.

Nobody who filled a pantry in a year of plenty has ever regretted it, and nobody standing in an empty aisle has ever been glad he waited for certainty.

None of this calls for panic, and panic is the enemy of sound judgment anyway. It calls for the same unglamorous prudence our grandparents considered ordinary. Keep some cash margin, know your local growers, and put real food in deep storage while it is cheap and available, because the entire arc of this story is that cheap and available is a closing window.

Families looking for a straightforward place to start can visit Heaven’s Harvest and use promo code Patriot for 15 percent off long-term storable food. The forecasts may yet soften, the strait may yet reopen, and we should pray they do. But hope is a fine thing to hold and a foolish thing to eat.

Drudge left me, so I left Drudge. I may have visited his site once or twice in recent years. But it’s not the same, of course. Alas.

Matt Drudge sold The Drudgereport to the left some time ago. They paid him tens of millions and presumably, Matt head out for parts unknown. Keeping The Drudgereport name was another democrat trick, meant to sway attitudes and opinions on the right behind the name. Obviously, the reason why The Drudgereport changed is because it was no longer Matt Drudge running it. Matt Drudge was never a radical leftist and he never hated Trump. Where do you get this bilge, or, perhaps, where have you been? It sounds like this was meant as a purposeful hit piece.

I actually considered that angle, but it doesn’t make sense. If that was the case, the sale would’ve been relatively easy to prove. Also, why sell your name along with the site, then slink off into the shadows and never explain your actions or defend yourself with the truth?

Drudge taking a powder, anonymously, was a condition of sale. I said it right up front when I said the site was meant to be a deception i.e. a conservative front, behind which fascists could plant ideological bombs. Matt Drudge was paid enough to agree with this. If you started with nothing in your news start up and were given a chance to bail out with 20, 30, 40, 50 million, what would you do? Remember, that’s when the king of Muslim deceit (taqiyya), Obama, was taking the POTUS office. Ask yourself: why hasn’t Matt Drudge surfaced? IMO, he’s waiting in obscurity somewhere for Ann Coulter to join him. That was the long term plan for them both.

The article gets its time lines wrong. Drudge turned on Trump DURING the Primary to a minor extent and the general to a greater extent. He started running the Russiagate hoax day one.

He was never a conservative or a liberal, he was always only after one thing: cash. And the money in 2016 was in dunking on Trump. But that well is dry and he can’t get his old readers back.

This is why I dropped Drudge Report and switched to The Liberty Daily.

You were meant to, and, despite what Daniel below says, to TLD from TDR was an excellent transition. IMO, Matt Drudge and TLD set this up before he parachuted out of the news business. Why is it so unbelievable that a man as smart as Matt Drudge might want to put himself out of reach of the US administrative state’s Intelligence Community? Many professions have time limitations and our bureaucracies have no qualms about taking out anyone they deem are adversaries. .

Drudge exposed himself and went down in flames. Like the Bush and Cheney backstabbers, he’s now irrelevant and rightfully so. All the money in the world can’t change the shame and guilt that comes from being a hypocrite.

My guess is he has AIDs and doesn’t want anyone to know. Hey, my guess is as good as yours. Not even a day and Trump is calling for unity already. How did I know that was going to happen? Next he’ll hire half the deep state.

Of course Trump is calling for unity. That is what he should do. That doesn’t mean Trump is changing his beliefs or actions. It’s called politics….

Drudge might have given us a major clue when he quit his Sunday night radio show. He said it interfered with longer trips to Thailand. It’s an interesting set of priorities. Why Thailand? What is it about Thailand that he would single it out over 200 nations in this world. He has always been uber concerned about privacy.

Makes me think of “Little Green Footballs”. It was a solidly conservative, pro Western, pro America site up until Obama’s first presidential run. The guy who runs it was offended by how some people characterized Obama. He went full-blown leftist with the site over the course of sixty days.

Drudge took the money from the sale and disappeared. Remember, he gave Breitbart his start at the Drudge Report. Thought he was gay too, so not sure why he’s waiting for Ann Coulter to join him. I think he received hundreds of millions if not a billion dollars (i saw validation 10 years ago based on the incredible amount of visitors). For years we checked Drudge daily and watched Foxnews. We do neither anymore. Revolver, Gateway Pundit, Breitbart, Real America Voice and Newsmax replaced those pretty well (although Matt Drudge IS the greatest headline author of all time!) The Deep State or a Soros organization probably own the Drudge Report now.

Drudge is/was a homosexual deeply loyal to Israel. His site targeted Normal Americans, giving the impression that he, too, was a Normal American. He wasn’t.
Even before he sold the website, his two hidden loyalties could be discerned in the occasional links he shared. One out of every 5 or 10 links would have a positive spin for homos. No link was ever critical of his religious homeland.
At some point, the site dropped the pretense of being Normal, and the homo/Israel links exploded, along with the disappearance of “conservative” links.
Drudge Report is still a fantastic resource–for Jewish homos!
