After the United States executed a precise military operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, the socialist regime in Caracas moved quickly to install his vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, as the new head of state. Rodríguez, a longtime ally of Maduro and a key figure in the Chavista movement, took the oath of office on January 3, 2026, amid widespread confusion in the capital. President Donald Trump acknowledged the development during a press briefing, noting that Rodríguez had “just been sworn in” following Maduro’s removal. This swift handover raises serious questions about whether the change truly disrupts the grip of socialism on Venezuela or simply reshuffles the deck.
Rodríguez, often referred to in opposition circles as a hardline ideologue, has deep ties to the Marxist roots of the Bolivarian Revolution started by Hugo Chávez. As Maduro’s vice president since 2017, she has overseen economic policies that deepened Venezuela’s reliance on state control, while facing U.S. sanctions for her role in undermining democratic institutions.
Her brother, Jorge Rodríguez, serves as president of the National Assembly, further entrenching family influence within the regime. Critics argue this transition maintains the same oppressive system that has driven millions into poverty and exile, with Rodríguez vowing to continue the fight against “imperialist aggression” in her inaugural address.
The U.S. intervention, dubbed Operation Absolute Resolve, involved over 150 aircraft and elite Delta Force units that neutralized key defenses and extracted Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from their compound. No American fatalities occurred, though Venezuelan state media reported civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth praised the mission as a clean break from past entanglements, emphasizing its focus on dismantling narcoterrorism networks tied to the regime. Yet with Rodríguez now at the helm, some wonder if the operation has inadvertently empowered another architect of the same failed policies.
Trump outlined plans for American oversight during the transition, stating, “We’re going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition.”
He hinted at direct involvement in rebuilding Venezuela’s vast oil reserves, the world’s largest, to benefit U.S. interests and global markets. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already engaged with Rodríguez, suggesting negotiations are underway to stabilize the nation. However, opposition leader María Corina Machado, who won overwhelming support in a disputed 2024 primary, remains sidelined, with Trump dismissing her as lacking broad backing.
Skeptics point to deeper machinations, whispering that Rodríguez’s ascension might stem from backroom deals allowing U.S. access to Venezuelan resources while preserving a facade of continuity. Maduro’s regime had long courted alliances with Russia, China, and Iran, turning the country into a hub for anti-Western activities. With Rodríguez in power, those ties could persist under the radar, potentially laundering influence through global networks that profit from instability. Reports from Infowars speculate on hidden motives, including elite interests in controlling oil flows to undercut American energy independence.
Venezuelans in exile celebrated Maduro’s fall with street parties in Miami and elsewhere, but back home, the mood is tense. Protests erupted in Caracas as loyalists rallied behind Rodríguez, clashing with those demanding free elections. The new president’s defiant stance—”Venezuela will not be anyone’s colony”—echoes Maduro’s rhetoric, fueling fears of prolonged unrest. As one expatriate said, “We escaped one tyrant, only to see his shadow take the throne.”
This development tests the limits of U.S. resolve in the hemisphere. While removing Maduro strikes a blow against narcoterrorism flooding American streets with fentanyl, installing a successor from the same ideological mold could prolong the suffering.
Patriots watching from afar see potential in Trump’s bold approach, but the real measure will be whether Venezuela emerges as a free nation or remains mired in socialist decay. As oil infrastructure revives under U.S. guidance, the benefits could flow, but only if the regime’s remnants are fully dismantled. For now, the world waits to see if this change is genuine or just another chapter in a long saga of tyranny.
Two Storms, One Harvest
Every food crisis in living memory has been a one-shock event. The 2008 price spike was a commodity bubble. The 2020 shortages were a logistics failure. The 2022 grain scare was a war on one exporter’s ports. Each time, the system bent, adjusted, and recovered, and each time the experts assured us afterward that global markets are simply too big and too diversified to fail.
What nobody in Washington seems eager to discuss is that 2026 is shaping up to be something the modern food system has never actually faced. Two independent shocks, one climatic and one geopolitical, are converging on the same harvest cycle at the same time. Not sequentially. Simultaneously.
Start with the weather. The Pacific Ocean is currently building toward what forecasters now openly call a record event. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center puts the odds of at least a strong El Niño near 88 percent, with roughly two in three odds it reaches “very strong” status, the tier reserved for perhaps three or four events in the entire satellite era. Every major global model now projects a median peak in Super El Niño territory, and most of them project it exceeding the 2015-16 event, which until now held the modern record. Sea surface anomalies were already brushing the super threshold in mid-July, months before these events normally peak. The atmosphere has already shifted into El Niño mode, and the event is forecast to crest in late fall and early winter.
This is not about “climate change.” It’s about the standard cycles of weather, and the cycle we’re currently in is one that has likely devastated societies in the past. We’re better prepared as a society today, but not all Americans are equally prepared.
Serious households have started doing the quiet math on their own. Grocery bills tell part of the story, and the forecast maps tell the rest, which is why long-term food storage has moved from fringe hobby to mainstream line item in the family budget, with established suppliers like Heaven’s Harvest seeing demand from people who five years ago would have rolled their eyes at the idea. That instinct is not paranoia. It is pattern recognition, and the pattern is worth walking through carefully.
Editor’s Note: Heaven’s Harvest IS a sponsor, but the warnings of this article are real and would be written even if we didn’t have a survival food sponsor. With that said, those who take advantage of what they offer can use promo code “Patriot” for 15% off.
The Fertilizer Clock Is Already Running
While the Pacific warms, the second shock has been unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz. The conflict with Iran turned the world’s most important energy chokepoint into a contested waterway, and the consequences reach far beyond the gas pump. Roughly a third of global fertilizer trade moves through Hormuz, and the disruption sent urea prices up 86 percent year over year by March, with a 53 percent jump in a single month.
The World Bank projects energy prices rising about 24 percent in 2026 and fertilizer about 31 percent. By its own accounting, fertilizer prices ran 35 percent higher in the first five months of this year than the same period last year.
Here is the mechanism the nightly news will not explain. Fertilizer is not a grocery item. It is a time-delayed input. The nitrogen a farmer in Iowa or Punjab could not afford to apply this spring does not show up as a problem this spring. It shows up as a thinner harvest six to twelve months later.
The World Bank’s own food security brief concedes that the effects of reduced applications earlier this season “are likely to become visible only later in harvest outcomes.” Translate that from institutional language into plain English and it means this. The damage is already done, it is already in the ground, and we are simply waiting for it to arrive on the shelf.
Now check the calendar. Six to twelve months from the spring planting season lands us squarely in late 2026 and early 2027. Which is precisely when the strongest El Niño in the instrumental record is forecast to peak, bringing its signature droughts to Southeast Asia, Australia, southern Africa, northern Brazil, and South Asia, the very regions that grow the world’s rice, sugar, and oilseeds.
The World Bank warns openly that a strong El Niño “could disrupt multiple crop belts simultaneously” on top of the conflict-driven input costs. Their baseline projection assumes the Middle East disruptions ease by autumn. What in the last two years of Middle East history suggests that assumption is safe?
The System Has No Slack Left
The comfortable answer is that global markets always adjust. But adjustment requires slack, and the slack is gone. Global cereal production is expected to decline from last year’s records even before El Niño does its work. The UN World Food Programme, hardly a den of right-wing preppers, is calling this the most significant disruption to its supply chains since Covid and the invasion of Ukraine, and its supply chain director put the stakes bluntly.
Today’s supply chain challenges are tomorrow’s hunger crisis.
There is also a political dimension that markets cannot price. When food gets scarce, governments do not behave like economists. They behave like politicians. Export bans, hoarding mandates, and panic buying at the national level turned the modest rice shortfall of 2008 into a global crisis, and analysts are already warning that import-dependent nations are the first dominoes.
The 2015-16 Super El Niño, a far weaker event than what is now forecast, threw tens of millions into food stress across Africa and Asia. This one is projected to be stronger, and it arrives with fertilizer already rationed by price and shipping lanes already contested by missiles.
What Joseph Knew
Scripture does not treat preparation for lean years as faithlessness. It treats it as wisdom delivered in advance to those willing to act on it.
Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt.
Joseph did not respond to that warning with a hashtag or a committee. He stored grain during the years of abundance, and when the famine came, Egypt stood while its neighbors begged. The lesson is not that famine is certain. It is that the time to prepare is precisely when preparation still looks optional.
Nobody who filled a pantry in a year of plenty has ever regretted it, and nobody standing in an empty aisle has ever been glad he waited for certainty.
None of this calls for panic, and panic is the enemy of sound judgment anyway. It calls for the same unglamorous prudence our grandparents considered ordinary. Keep some cash margin, know your local growers, and put real food in deep storage while it is cheap and available, because the entire arc of this story is that cheap and available is a closing window.
Families looking for a straightforward place to start can visit Heaven’s Harvest and use promo code Patriot for 15 percent off long-term storable food. The forecasts may yet soften, the strait may yet reopen, and we should pray they do. But hope is a fine thing to hold and a foolish thing to eat.

Conspirator in the drug trade?
Next..
If the US is claiming (and rightfully so) that Maduro was not a legitimate election, how is it the VP Rodriques is? Didn’t she run with hIm and isn’t she just as illegitimate?
If Maduro was an illegitimate president, why would the vice president be legitimate?
Time to cancel Executive Order 11905
So why stop with Maduro and his wife. Take out that female Che Guevara, who obviously wants to keep Maduro’s policies in place. So here is what you do. If our boys catch one more Narco-Boat they also need to go in and take that B!tch out.
AMERICA WILL NOT ALLOW CHINA TO TAKE ALL OF THEIR OIL, WHEN IT WAS OUR COMPANIES WHO BUILT VENZUELA’S OIL INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WAS NATIONALIZED BY MADURO. Arresting Maduro was not about Narco-Boats but about oil because Venezuela has the largest oil reserves on earth, and that is a fact, AND CHINA WAS TRYING TO PURCHASE THE OIL MORE EXPENSIVELY THAN AMERICA IS PAYING FOR IT.
She’s the head of Venezuelan Intel, and most likely the member of his inner circle who betrayed Maduro. The US admin has allowed the Venezuelan supreme court to install her as president (at least for the time being) most likely for co-operating with the Trump admin and betraying her boss. If she truly is the one who betrayed her boss, as intel head, she could be very useful to the US.
Maybe largest but it’s crappy oil. Needs additional refining.
That’s a fact.
Maybe President Trump sent her a personal letter as well. One can hope.
It bothers me NOT one little bit that now they have a woman in charge, and I am an American woman.
Women can be really evil and tough, and in fact they are often worse than the men. That country may
haver a lot of oil, but it requires a lot of refining to make it useful. America has a lot of oil and natural
gas, and in general it does not require a lot of refining. We need to look to our own land first to find and
refine the products we need. We also need to update our OLD electrical grid,, before we have a huge
BLACK OUT. If that happened during cold weather, there would be thousands and thousands who would
freeze to death, and also die from starvation. Many nations, and their citizens dislike America though
most would give their eye teeth to come and life in America. Even at our worse, we are better than just
about any country on this Planet.
I read a substack article this morning that puts this in perspective. Trump is using oil and drugs to sell this because the real reasons are not glamorous. Russia is selling arms and training to Venezuela, Iran has built a drone factory whose drones can cause havoc in gulf shipping and reach parts of the US. Finally China is controlling rare earth mining in rich Venezuela then shipping it to Chinese refineries where China refuses to sell to US.
Perhaps Trump made clear to those remaining in power that behavior will not be tolerated.
What a BS story! Do you really think that the US and Trump would go to all of this trouble and then turn it over to another Marxist? After what just happened to Maduro do you really think she would do the same thing? Who writes this crap?
Dictator Trump attacks illegally a sovereign country to try to steal its oil, and remove its legally elected president (following betrayal by his entourage not a ‘precisely executed operation’, it’s not Hollywood, it’s real life) and morons have nothing better to do than praising that.
What happens when you are next to be removed?
By the way how is Trump’s ear, you know the one that was removed in August 24 to have him leading the polls?
It appears it re-grew.
Amazing what video propaganda and a real stupid population can achieve.
Trump said there will be “boots on the ground”, and also indicated regime change. That’s what it will take …
“After U.S. Removes Marxist Dictator, Venezuela Swears in Another Marxist Dictator”
—- THE JOKE WILL BE ON THEM: TRUMP IS A WORLD-CLASS MASTER AT “WHAC-A-MOLE” !!!!
drop a bomb down her drug running communist throat
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
The headline looks like its from Babylon Bee.
Thx for the laugh.
Communists don’t learn nuthin ever. Only one cure for a Communist. The cure is often delivered 150 grains at a time. It makes them Good Communists.
Yes, she and her brother are the CIA’s people. They need to be removed from Venezuela permanently.
Delsey is Carlos the Jackel’s daughter and the power behind Maduro. Her step-brother also works for the Venezuela government. Patrick Byrne said if she becomes President, then the US RINO’s are in control, i.e., Pence and his cabal. Hedge Fund owner Singer closed on his purchase of CITGO on December 25, 2025, which is a Venezuela state own entity. Funny how an Israeli always comes out on top and is now in control of Venezuela’s gas distribution. Any one find it strange that a business deal went down before Maduro was removed? Any one find it strange that Maduro was taken to the Southern District of NY when his greatest drug damage has been done in the South of the US?
Hence Trump is compromised and controlled by Bibi and his Israel first crowd. Mega is dead as a door nail as history repeats and little benefit will come to the Venezuelan people as the robber barons move in. Venezuela is the capital of the all the drug cartels and now the US controls it under the direction of Israel. Sheinbaum in Mexico is controlled by the drug cartels, so Trump calling her a good person is pure BS. A year from now the US will still have a major drug and homeless problem while Americans stay awake at night wondering when their pink slip will show up in their email. The real estate market will continue its decline into September 2026.
Next up Iran followed by Africa as the US sinks further and further into debt.
In the meantime, Social Security has been given access to everyone’s bank accounts for SSI, SSDI, Medicaid and soon retirees while you were distracted. The no tax on tips rules are out and as convulted as the farm tax bill from his first term. It is all delusions.
America is hopeless lost. So say good night Gracie.
