Ryan Wesley Routh, who is currently under investigation for a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, has a disturbing past involving radical ideas and violent rhetoric.
In 2023, Routh co-authored a memoir with his fiancée, Kathleen Schaffer, titled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War: The Fatal Flaw of Democracy, World Abandonment, and the Global Citizen-Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea, and the End of Humanity.” This book advocates for Ukraine’s victory over Russia in what Routh refers to as an “unwinnable war” and takes some dark turns in discussing political figures, including Trump, as reported by The Post Millennial.

Routh makes no secret of his contempt for Trump, writing with inflammatory language. He shockingly admitted in the book that he misjudged the former president, apologizing to Iran and essentially inviting the assassination of Trump, writing, “You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me.”
