Russia has deployed around 30,000 troops to the new frontline in Kursk as Vladimir Putin attempts to defend against Ukraine’s forces. There are signs that Belarus, Russia’s ally, has also sent tanks to the Ukrainian border.
Ukraine currently controls about 100 towns and settlements in Kursk, which they invaded on August 6. Zelensky’s forces have targeted border checkpoints in the Belgorod region, attempting to advance into another city controlled by Putin.
Putin is planning a new attack using tanks and troops from Belarus to repel the increasing assault. Reports show heavy-duty tanks and armored trucks in Gomel, near the Ukraine border.
Putin hopes to intimidate Ukraine’s troops with the threat of a new army, as per the security think tank Atlantic Council. In response, Ukraine has warned Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko that all troop concentrations, military facilities, and supply routes in Belarus will be legitimate targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Commander in Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has stated that the number of Russian troops dispatched to Kursk continues to grow.
