Nevada’s secretary of State’s office is investigating hundreds of cases of potential election integrity violations from the 2024 elections, including 180 reports of alleged double-voting.
The report, which was released on Friday, states Nevadans filed 762 Election Integrity Violation Reports in the general and primary elections this year. Of those cases, 515 were resolved with no violation found, four of them were found in violation of election law, and 243 cases remain open, including the 180 double-voting cases.
Nevada law forbids voters from voting twice, but the state has to prove that it was intentional instead of a mistake, according to the Federalist. Double-voting includes casting ballots from two different states.
Despite the ongoing investigations, Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar claimed the 2024 election was “more secure than ever.”
“Election security is a top priority for my office, and we’ve taken significant steps to ensure that Nevada’s elections are some of the safest in the country,” Aguilar said in a statement. “The 2024 election cycle was more secure than ever, and voters should be confident in the electoral process and their vote.” […]
