Billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his family will head to court in Nevada. The Fox News and Wall Street Journal owner reportedly seeks to rewrite an irrevocable trust to benefit his eldest son to the detriment of three of his other children.
Murdoch reportedly wants to amend the trust so eldest Lachlan Murdoch will inherit the Murdoch media empire, NBC News reported.
Three of Murdoch’s other children – James, Elisabeth, and Prudence – are reportedly resisting the amendment to the trust, under which each sibling would currently receive equal voting control over the media empire.
The proceedings are under seal and “confidential to court order.” Despite the seal, The New York Times obtained a copy of a court document outlining the case’s key issues.
