House Judiciary Committee is subpoenaing Big Tech firms including Apple and TikTok for any communications they might have had with foreign governments that led to the censorship of Americans.
“The Committee must understand how and to what extent foreign governments have limited Americans’ access to lawful speech in the United States, as well as the extent to which the Biden-Harris Administration aided or abetted these efforts,” committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan said in a letter to the companies that also has been made public.
Other companies that were subpoenaed include Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Rumble TikTok and X.
“In recent years, foreign governments have taken increasingly aggressive actions to suppress disfavored views on social media by regulating content,” reads the letter sent to all of them.
