Even though Russia has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of attacking NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) or any other Western-allied country, the European Union is claiming there’s a “looming threat.” Russia has so far, not even retaliated after warning the West many times of its involvement in the conflict with Ukraine.
The European Parliament is set to hold closed-door, high-level discussions on Wednesday in relation to a new report on the competitiveness of the EU defense industry, Politico has reported, according to a report by RT. The document, which was prepared by former Italian prime minister Mario Draghi, reportedly calls on the EU to rethink its defense policy in light of the Ukraine conflict and the purported threat from Russia.
The report claims that “the emergence of new types of hybrid threats” and “a possible shift of geographic focus” by the United States as reasons for the EU to take “growing responsibility” for its own security.
While Draghi believes Moscow is going to attack, Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin says that the West is at fault for the conflict with Ukraine. Putin and his ruling class members have also said there is no intention of attacking any nation other than Ukraine. […]
