Law enforcement executed a search warrant on the home of New York City Police Commissioner Edward Caban on Wednesday, Spectrum News reported. This comes as aides to NYC Mayor Eric Adams had their homes searched this week as well.
According to Spectrum News, sources told the outlet that search warrants were executed at the homes of Police Commissioner Edward Caban and Eric Adams aide Tim Pearson. Pearson had his cellphone subpoenaed. This is in addition to the FBI raiding the homes of Adams aides Phil Banks and Sheena Wright.
“The Department is aware of an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York involving members of service. The Department is fully cooperating in the investigation,” an NYPD spokesperson said in response to the search of Caban, per the New York Post.
A spokesman from the City when the earlier raids were announced said, “Investigators have not indicated to us the mayor or his staff are targets of any investigation. As a former member of law enforcement, the mayor has repeatedly made clear that all members of the team need to follow the law.”
The New York Post reported that although the purpose of the raids have remained unclear, the probe is an attempt to “flip” someone close to Mayor Eric Adams. Sources also told the Post that the more recent searches do not appear to be connected to the Turkey donations investigation. […]
