Congressman Makes Strong Push to Give President Trump Third Term Eligibility

by Publius

Andy Ogles

Representative Andy Ogles, a Republican from Tennessee, has once again voiced strong support for enabling President Donald Trump to pursue a third term in office. As a dedicated ally of Trump, Ogles highlighted the president’s leadership during a recent appearance on Newsmax, emphasizing the need for constitutional flexibility in exceptional times.

“I think he should be eligible for a third term,” Ogles stated during the interview. “He’s truly the leader in a historic time in our nation and, quite frankly, in our world.”

Ogles first introduced legislation on this matter back in January 2025 with House Joint Resolution 29, which proposes an amendment to the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The resolution would limit a person to no more than three elections to the presidency, with the stipulation that no more than two terms could be consecutive. This change would specifically accommodate presidents like Trump, who have served nonconsecutive terms, while barring those with two consecutive stints, such as former Presidents Barack Obama or George W. Bush. Ogles has described the measure as having significant backing within Republican circles, noting in May 2025 that it enjoys “a lot of support” among his colleagues.

When pressed on how he plans to advance Trump’s potential third run, Ogles pointed to this bill as a key mechanism. He also commended Trump’s recent decisions, including the deployment of the National Guard to address urban unrest, and urged similar actions in cities plagued by rising crime rates, such as Nashville, Memphis, and Chicago. Ogles argued that Trump demonstrates a willingness to “think outside of the box” in tackling these issues, contrasting this approach with what he sees as failures by Democratic local leaders.

In particular, Ogles targeted Nashville’s Democratic Mayor Freddie O’Connell, accusing him of exacerbating crime through lenient policies. On social media, Ogles wrote, “Comrade O’Connell is using the city as an outpost for international gangs to set up shop in our neighborhoods. Punish criminals and the Mayors who work for them.”

This isn’t the first time Ogles has championed Trump; he previously nominated the president for a Nobel Peace Prize, citing efforts to reduce crime in Washington, D.C. A member of the House Freedom Caucus and ranked among the chamber’s most conservative voices, Ogles secured a decisive reelection victory in 2024, winning Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District by a double-digit margin.

Trump himself has occasionally alluded to the idea of extending his tenure, mentioning in a March 2025 interview that “there are methods” for seeking a third term and clarifying he was “not joking” about exploring options. While the president has also downplayed such speculation at times, Ogles’ initiative reflects a broader sentiment among some conservatives that extraordinary leaders deserve leeway beyond traditional limits.

As debates over constitutional amendments continue, Ogles remains firm in his advocacy, positioning the proposal as a response to what he views as unprecedented national challenges.

Starting the Day With a Scripture-Inspired Roast Helps Center Your Thoughts on Eternal Truths Amid Temporal Pressures

The world can seem chaotic, especially right after we wake up. Many believers start their mornings reaching for something familiar — a hot cup of coffee — yet end up settling for mediocre brews that do little more than deliver a caffeine jolt. The daily grind of life, with its endless distractions, news cycles, and responsibilities, can leave even the most faithful feeling spiritually parched alongside their physical fatigue. What if your morning ritual could do more than wake you up? What if it could ground you in truth, nourish your body with exceptional quality, and quietly advance a kingdom purpose at the same time?

That’s the promise — and the reality — behind Promised Grounds Coffee. This Christian-founded company doesn’t just roast beans; it approaches every step as an act of worship and discipleship. By selecting only the top 10% of specialty-grade beans, ethically sourced from dedicated farmers in Central and South America, and small-batch roasting them with reverence in Austin, Texas, Promised Grounds delivers what many describe as the best coffee available — never burnt, never bland, but rich with origin stories and layered flavors that honor God’s creation.

From the vibrant Psalm 27 Roast (a light, bright medium option) to the bold yet peaceful 2 Timothy 1:7 Decaf, each bag carries a Scripture verse that turns your daily pour into a gentle reminder of faith. And through their Ounce Per Ounce Promise, every ounce of coffee you enjoy provides an equal ounce of clean water to families in need via partnership with Filter of Hope — literally brewing hope for body and soul, one cup at a time.

The challenge for today’s Christians runs deeper than finding a decent cup. In an age of convenience-driven consumerism, it’s easy to support companies that dilute values or remain silent on matters of faith. Many believers want their everyday choices — from what they drink to how they spend — to reflect discipleship rather than just convenience. Promised Grounds solves this by weaving Christian excellence into the entire process: beans nurtured with prayerful stewardship by farming families, roasted as an offering rather than a commodity, and packaged with Bible verses to encourage a mindset of gratitude and purpose from the first sip. Reviewers consistently praise the smooth, rich profiles — whether enjoyed black in a drip maker, iced on a warm day, or shared in fellowship — noting how the quality stands toe-to-toe with premium secular brands while delivering something far more meaningful.

This integration of faith and flavor addresses a real need in Christian households and ministries. Busy parents, church leaders, and remote workers alike report that starting the day with a Scripture-inspired roast helps center their thoughts on eternal truths amid temporal pressures. The coffee’s exceptional character — bright citrus notes in lighter roasts or deep chocolate undertones in bolder ones — comes from meticulous selection and careful roasting that respects the bean’s natural gifts rather than masking them. It’s the kind of coffee that elevates a simple quiet time, fuels productive workdays, or sparks meaningful conversations when shared at Bible studies or outreach events. And because it’s ethically sourced with integrity, every purchase supports sustainable livelihoods for farmers who treat their crops like family harvests.

For those leading churches or small groups, the impact multiplies. Promised Grounds offers bundles and options perfect for hospitality ministries, turning ordinary coffee service into an opportunity to point people toward the living water of Christ. Imagine greeting visitors with a warm cup whose very bag carries God’s Word — a subtle yet powerful witness that aligns with the Great Commission. The company’s Texas roots and commitment to “brewing hope” resonate especially with believers who value American enterprise paired with global compassion.

Of course, quality alone isn’t enough if the experience feels out of reach. Promised Grounds keeps it accessible with practical perks like free shipping on orders over $40, sample sets for discovering favorites, and thoughtful add-ons such as faith-themed mugs. Whether you prefer whole beans for fresh grinding, grounds for convenience, or even bulk options for larger households and ministries, the result is consistently superior coffee that makes discipleship feel integrated rather than added on.

As you consider how to align even the smallest habits with your walk with God, Promised Grounds Coffee stands out as a refreshing solution. It tackles the dual problems of subpar daily sustenance and disconnected consumption by offering a product that genuinely excels in taste while advancing a mission of clean water, farmer dignity, and scriptural encouragement. Believers who make the switch often describe it as more than a beverage upgrade — it becomes part of their rhythm of gratitude, a daily invitation to remember that every good gift comes from above.

If you’re ready to transform your mornings (and perhaps your church gatherings) with coffee that honors both exceptional craftsmanship and Christian values, I encourage you to explore what Promised Grounds has to offer. One sip at a time, you’ll be nourishing your body, refreshing your spirit, and participating in something far greater — all while enjoying what truly is among the best coffee available.

President Trump will be 82 at the beginning of 2029.
Andy Ogles is a foolish man if he thinks someone of this age will be able to complete 4 years with all the pressures on the presidency. At best he will be a figurehead with others doing the work. Do the Americans want another declining president like president Biden? He should be helping prepare a younger cohort of people who have both experience and wisdom, principle and patriotism, honesty and humility.

But you forget that DJT is not a normal man in the usual sense. He neither drinks alcohol, smokes tobacco or engages in hazardous activities. He is very active and exercises his mind constantly. Such people do live exceptionally long lives. While I don’t think this 3rd term effort will go anywhere, IMO, Trump could easily complete such a term.

Instead of expanding the presidential term, why not limit the terms of congress? Two terms in each position – just like the president.

“But but but. They won’t be able to get anything done !!! Whaaaa !!!!” Exactly.

We have term limits on Congressmen every two years, if the American people would do their one job of primarying out the incumbent. But no matter how bad, from Johnson to Ryan to Mast to Crenshaw, the GOP voters return these guys with over 80% of the vote.

I would suggest either reducing a senator’s term to 4 years, and limit the number of terms to 2, or repeal the 17th amendment and give the senators’ selection back to the state legislators where it belongs.

This is nothing but virtue signaling. Congressman Ogles knows that no Constitutional Amendment can pass with the current makeup of Congress. It’s not even close nor do Republicans expect that to change. This is the same thing MTG does. Virtue signaling.

Donald John Trump deserves a third term as president. Considering the 2020 election fraud and coup also in addition too the law fare he endured from the dirty democrat cabal. President Trump, his ego aside would step down on his own if he felt he wasn’t up to the job. President Trump would never want to be compared to that degenerate POS Biden.
However, a symbolic third term would be just right and would help with the destruction of the Democrat party and its communist minions, giving him lame duck process to finish off the liberal democrat disease that has infected every institution in our nation.
President Trump has much to do. The RINO’s and the activist judges are doing everything in their imaginations to derail our America first agenda. America first is a must and should be institutionalized , codified and forefront in every patriots thought.

It’s not Trump who needs another term but a lot of his policy does. If another man can’t do the job then what is the point. I was a supporter of a lot of the MAGA agenda before Trump existed. He just happened to be the guy who put a voice to it. He can go away and I still want the same things. It’s not the man. It’s the policy.

Could we could make a 3rd term a special exception for any president whose ear has been grazed by a Democrat sniper’s bullet?

I’m in. Who else is there? JD turned Catholic which is a huge red flag. Not being a born Catholic, maybe he can avoid most of the cult aspect, but the doctrine is wrong also. I won’t ever vote for a Catholic or any other cult member.

When Catholics are left behind at the Rapture, their naive susceptibility to idol worship and exclusivity of anyone NOT Catholic, will affirm the anti-Christ who will be performing supernatural fake miracles.

As a Christian and a retired carpenter, my view is like this: it takes a lot of time, physical work, detailed planning and resolution to build a structure but; it takes minutes to burn it down.
I would love to see Trump continue to rebuild our country back to and even exceed its former glory, but look how long it takes and what he’s up against to do that. If a liberal (democrat, republican or independent) gets those same reins, they’d destroy the country and the bridge behind them in the process.
We have to really dig deep before making a third term a reality and to ensure there’s an “exit strategy”.
We only have the human race to choose from in our leadership. If that leader doesn’t use God’s standards, they will use the world’s standards which will always have an expiration date.

We don’t need another term of Trump, we don’t need a Trump jr term, time for new blood. JD Vance or Rubio to carry Trumps vision forward.

Big supporter of the man, but no. I don’t support this. Gotta always remember the pendulum eventually swings back the other way. Imagine having three terms of Newsom or Whitmer or whoever they roll out in the next few cycles.

Any term limits should apply across the board and be extensive.
    1. No more than three terms in the House of which only two may be consecutive.
    2. No more than two noncocsecutive terms in Senate.
    3. No more the three terms as President.
    4. No sitting member of Congress may run for a seat in the other or for President until they have been out of office for at least two years.
    5. No widow, widower or immediate family member of a deceased member shall be eligabl to run for said deceased members seat for a period of two years or one congressional term, which ever is greater.
    6. Any speech, outside the immediate halls of Congress by a sitting member that is contradictory to the Oath of Office shall be considered an impeechable offence.

I can’t blame the man for speaking his mind, or for attempting to forward his position. That doesn’t mean I agree with him in the least. Let us not casually toss aside 250 years of honor and tradition on account of a passing storm!

“Going with the flow” does not apply when you’re being sucked down the toilet, because that’s where the flow is headed! This is PRECISELY the moment you don’t want be caught trying to formulate a plan. You better already have one and STICK TO IT if you want to survive at all.

Is one man worth the change?
To get it done would require 38 states to haul butt and get it passed before 2028, and that is, before the
    US Congress votes on it.
It doesn’t seem likely to happen. However, I’m sure Trump appreciates the thought.

Easier solution: Vance/Trump 2028. Vance resigns and Trump is President and appoints Vance as VP again. Watch commie heads explode. 😂
