A longtime pastor and beloved family man succumbed to injuries suffered earlier this month in Michigan when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a suspect who was released into the U.S. after illegally entering the country, according to authorities.
On Nov. 3, Stephen Singleton was out on his morning walk in Rochester Hills just before 7 a.m. when he was run over by the driver of a Ford Focus who had just run a red light, reports indicate.
Singleton was reportedly wearing a reflective vest and was in a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision.
“I was sitting at the table reading my bible waiting for him to come back and he left about 6 o’clock or so,” Singleton’s wife, Teri, told WXYZ.
