Republicans are gaining ground on Democrats in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, registering more new voters than Democrats in July.
Axios reported on Tuesday that Republicans added 19,127 new voters to their rolls in July, while Democrats added 17,495. For the year, Republicans are outpacing Democrats in new voter registration in Pennsylvania, leading 94,603 to 87,325, according to the state. The gains for Republicans in Pennsylvania include the all-important Bucks County — to the northeast of Philadelphia — as the GOP is leading the Democrats in new voter registration for the first time in the county in 15 years, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“It’s a morale booster, it’s something we’ve been targeting for years,” Bucks County GOP Chair Pat Poprik said.
